Sustainable carbon for aviation and shipping
Sustainable carbon is a resource that will become crucial in the energy transition. At the moment, however, both supply and demand of sustainable carbon are still limited, and the associated legislative frameworks are under development. For the international aviation and shipping sectors, the context is particularly complex.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management commissioned this study to obtain a better understanding of the expected supply and demand for sustainable carbon in aviation and shipping, as well as the state of the current legislative frameworks. The analysis of supply and demand focuses primarily on the Dutch situation, but where relevant, information is also presented for the European scope.
